Terms of service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of DocType Switch (details below). By using the service you agree to them, to our acceptable use policy and to our privacy policy.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13. To create an account you must be 18 or older, or at least 13 with your parent's or guardian's permission. Guests can use most tools without an account.

3. The service

We convert images, documents and audio files. Conversions are automated. Transcripts can contain mistakes, narration uses computer-generated (AI) voices, and converted documents may look different from the original. Check results before relying on them, and keep your originals. Features, limits and daily allowances may change; current values are shown on each tool page.

4. Your files and the results

You keep all rights in the files you upload, and in the files we produce from them: we claim no ownership of either. You give us a limited permission to store and process your files only to provide your conversion, including passing them to the service providers listed in the privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to convert everything you upload. We don't remove DRM or passwords.

5. Accounts

Keep your password safe; you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Account settings, which deletes your files immediately.

6. Prices

The service is currently free to use within each tool's daily allowance. We take no payments and charge no fees. If we ever introduce paid features, prices will be shown clearly before you pay and these terms will be updated first. See also our refund policy.

7. Availability

We work to keep the service reliable but can't promise it will always be available. Tools may be paused for maintenance.

8. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for lost files, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it (or, for free use, nothing beyond what the law requires). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law or takes away your statutory consumer rights.

9. Suspension

We may suspend accounts that break these terms or the acceptable use policy. You may stop using the service at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We'll update the date above when these terms change and email registered users about significant changes before they apply.
